DERBYSHIRE NET1

Derbyshire Netball Association

What is the UKCC?

The UK Coaching Certificate is an endorsement of sport-specific (Netball in our case) coach education. It sets the standards to ensure that we are delivering the best available, player-centred coaching. The UKCC is a relatively new coaching award which replaces the old coaching awards.

What are the coaching levels?

Level 1 – assist more qualified coaches, delivery aspects of coaching sessions normally under supervision. These courses are organised by East Midlands Regional Netball and requires three days.

Level 2 – prepare for, deliver and review coaching session. Level 2 is the first qualification where netball would encourage coaching independently or as part of a coaching team. These courses and above are organised nationally and requires 5 days.

Level 3 – plan, implement and analyse annual / seasonal coaching programmes.

Level 4 – design, implement and evaluate the process and outcome of long term/specialist coaching programme.

Level 5 – generate, direct and manage the implementation of cutting-edge solutions and programmes.
