President of Derbyshire Netball, Liz Broomhead has been given an MBE in the New Year's Honours list.
Liz, a former England coach and ambassador for netball across the County, Country and Globe receives her award for voluntary service to her sport.
It is only a fortnight since she made the final three in the "unsung hero" category at the Sports Personality of the Year awards.
"This is a culmination but not a conclusion of a lot of years of hard work," she said.
"I was told that I was to receive an MBE back in November 2010 and had to accept or decline but keep it quiet until New Year's Day. But that was quite an easy thing to do because I was so busy with other things, such as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, it's been easy!"
Well done Liz from us all!
