A great evening at Woodlands last night hosting an umpires workshop for those working towards their INTO and C Award umpiring qualifications 🏐 The session was led by Dawn Heron and Jayne Bell, with 15 attendees taking part in a really valuable and engaging workshop. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the evening! 👏

Still buzzing from the East Midlands U11 Tournament last Sunday? ✨ Huge shoutout to every single team that came through and absolutely smashed it, the talent, teamwork and vibes all day were unreal. Big energy at the PDP Tournament at Denston 💙🔥 Our squads absolutely showed up on Sunday and we’re SO proud of the girls 💪 🏆 U15A — CUP WINNERS 🥈 U15B — PLATE RUNNERS UP 🥉 U13 — THIRD PLACE Special shoutout to the U13B squad 👏 A lot of our Year 7s stepped up to represent the team and had to move up from Plate into Cup competition, and they still battled hard all day 🫶 Massive effort, massive potential.

✨ PDP Regional Tournament 17th Jan ✨ It was a big weekend of movement and stepping up across the squads last weekend. The U15 B team were moved up to Group 1, they fought hard against Year 10 opposition. Considering the entire squad is Year 9, they showed determination and gained valuable experience. They’ll only get stronger from here. Several Under 13 B and training partners were moved up to compete in Under 15 C, and they performed brilliantly. Because of this shift, many U13 B players moved into the U13 A squad, and some U13 Training Partners moved into the B squad - fantastic progression for so many players across the pathway. 💙 Those who remained in their usual teams stepped up beautifully, they embraced more court time and took on new leadership roles, proving just how much depth there is in the squads. Despite the cold 🥶, it was a hugely successful day of netball! Super proud of you all 💙❤️

🏐 What a match!🚨 Derby Roses put on an absolute show today in their epic clash against Lincoln City! From the first whistle, it was non-stop action. The pace was electric, and every pass needed to be on point to get the ball into the shooting circle. Shoutout to the entire team – the intercepts were next level, defence was rock solid, and the shooters handled that pressure like pros! 🏆 We were all on the edge of our seats the whole time, and I needed to leave at 3/4 time... but the intensity was just too much! 😅 Had to stay and see it through – glad I did, what a win! 🔥 And a massive congratulations to Maizie for being named Player of the Match – well deserved! 🙌 You were outstanding out there! 🌟

A future role model in the making. ✨ Outstanding Player – Annie Niven Annie’s athleticism and relentless work rate are second to none. Whether in attack or defence, she consistently delivers. ✨ Special Recognition – Phoebe Loftas Originally a training partner, Phoebe’s courage, resilience, and versatility made a huge impact. Derbyshire Netball Awards 2025 – Celebrating Our Community Champions 🥇Young Umpire of the Year – Holly Smith Already making her mark, Holly has umpired at Regional Schools, supported Derbyshire U15s, and even officiated as a pre-match to a Superleague game. 🥇Umpire of the Year – Barbara Smith Over 30 years of dedicated umpiring across Derbyshire leagues, giving her time freely and generously. A selfless volunteer. 🥇Young Coach of the Year – Blossom Diffin Blossom is a trusted role model and brings positivity, leadership, and smiles to every session. Her calm energy uplifts everyone she coaches. 🥇Coach of the Year – Kelly Hopkinson A committed PDP coach who’s shaped teams and shared her knowledge across regions. We are on countdown…. Who is excited for the Derbyshire Netball Celebration 💙❤️

Today I am calling “Celebration Friday” At the @netballineastmidlands ONE awards last week our very own @hollidgesarah won the Jean Stanley Award. This award is for someone who has been involved in club, county and region in one or more roles. And we are so proud that Sarah won. Sarah has been an invaluable member of the netball community, playing integral roles both on and off the court. At Cooper Stars, she served not only as a committed player but also took on essential roles such as Safeguarding Officer and COVID Officer. Over her 7 years with the team, Sarah proved to be a reliable and selfless teammate—always willing to step in when needed and often playing in the defensive circle alongside her daughter, which she greatly enjoyed. Beyond Cooper Stars, Sarah has played a significant role in the wider netball community. She has been a dedicated volunteer with the Burton and District League committee for the past 3–4 years, where her experience, calm reasoning, and commitment to positive change have been greatly valued. She has also regularly supported junior coaching sessions, offering her time, energy, and expertise to nurture the next generation of players. Sarah has made meaningful contributions at the regional level, playing integral roles in both the Derbyshire County Management Board (CMB) and the East Midlands netball community. Her dedication and impact across all levels of the sport have made her an exceptional ambassador for netball. CONGRATULATIONS 💙❤️
