🌟 Meet the Member: Donna Beckett! 🏐✨ Donna Beckett’s umpiring journey began in 1995 as a C Award Umpire, quickly joining the Yardley League, which is close to her heart for its wonderful ethos. By 2005, she achieved her A Award and began umpiring at the Premier level. In the same year, Donna took on her current role as Lead for the Officiating Technical Support Group (TSG). She takes great pride in this role, and with the support of her group, they achieve fantastic results within the county. Donna is also a dedicated member of the Derbyshire County Management Board and the East Midland Regional Board. While she enjoys these roles, her greatest passion is mentoring. The weather was perfect, the netball was thrilling, and our teams shone bright! 🌟 Our U13 team clinched first place, with third and fourth places following closely behind. It all started in 1986 when she joined Stiletto Netball Club – a decision she describes as one of the best she ever made! Throughout her journey, Mary has worn many hats and made countless contributions to Derbyshire netball. From serving as Spotlight Secretary since 1987 to being a driving force behind various initiatives like the Grassroots League (now Yardley League) and the East Midlands Talent Development Programme. Passionate about facilitating junior netball, reintroducing people to the sport, and recognizing and rewarding volunteers, Mary embodies the true spirit of netball. Her love for walking netball shines through as she enthusiastically hosts sessions, spreading the joy of the game to all.
